FC Barcelona was founded on November 29, 1899 by a man named Joan Gamper. Now, Barcelona has come a very long way to where they are today. They have established one of the top positions in the Spanish Premier League, along with the Champions League. For a whole century, Barcelona has passed through many moments of glory and moments of pain, along with many epic victories and other humbling defeats. Yet all of those things have defined and characterized the club to what it is today. Today, Barcelona is the second biggest sports Spanish soccer club franchise, falling behind their very competitive rivals, Real Madrid. Barcelona’s estimated worth is around 1 Billion dollars. Their very famous motto is “More than a club”, which has been proved by their unity and skill level. Barcelona has the most domestic trophies in Spanish football, having won 21 La Liga, 25 Copa del Rey, 10 Supercopa de España, 3 Copa Eva Duarte and 2 Copa de la Liga trophies, as well as being the record holder for the latter four competitions. In international club football Barcelona have won four UEFA Champions League finals, a record four UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, four UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup trophies. They also won a record three Inter-Cities Fairs Cup trophies, considered the predecessor to the UEFA Cup. In May of 2011, they won the champions league final, making them the best team in Europe. They truly are one of the best teams that have ever played.
